Ferriday Lower AR program starting October 1st

Accelerated Reader is a supplementary reading program for K-12th grade that encourages students to read independently.  Reading goals are at 20 points. Books are worth 0.5 points. In order for your child to reach the goal, they will need to read and pass at least 40 or more books.  Your child’s teacher will send books home to read. Please send the books back to school with the student in order to take a test.

Where did the story take place? (Setting)

What happened in the story? (Summary)

If they cannot answer your questions, re-read the book.

 

Rewards, Awards and Celebrations

Students have point goals set for each nine weeks.

**20 points = prizes**25 points = more prizes**50 points = more prizes**

 Students will be recognized in each class, grade level, and overall readers for the school.   

 Important Dates!

AR Family Project:  Our Accelerated Reader Family Project will be to create a Rocket Space Ship recyclable materials such as cardboard, paper, cereal boxes, cans, etc. The Rocket Space Ship projects are due Friday, October 8th.  

AR Kick-off Dress-Up Day:  Students may dress as their favorite Disney Characters, Friday, October 1st. Please make sure that costumes do not interfere with students' daily activities.
